During the Covid-19 lockdown, AGR began producing up-cycled bags and deadstock, patchwork wool hats, catching the attention of the ‘Nike By You: Move to Zero’ campaign. ‘Nike By You’ commissioned AGR to create a sustainability focused capsule collection using unused Nike event banners and AGR’s deadstock yarn, fabrics and hardware. The capsule, sold exclusively at Nike Town London, was made up of three AGR collection staples: Cargo trousers, knitted crew jumpers and puffer jackets. The use of vibrant colours, patchwork and screen printing showcased AGR’s bold design principles. These items were handmade and homegrown in London, with the help of locally sourced manufacturers and businesses including Orto Print.

Following the success of the collection AGR & Nike began to host immersive up-cycling workshops at NTL for Nike App Members. Nike continuously sends their unused banners to the AGR studio which are then cut into panels so they can be combined with AGR’s colourful deadstock materials to create the one-of-one tote bags at the workshops. We believe that sustainability needs to be collaborative, so this partnership with ‘Nike By You’ has been a harmonious and organic journey that lends itself well to current events such as the third NTL up-cycling workshop which was centred around this years’ Female Euros final.
